Class Descriptions

At Hourglass Yoga our goal is to make practice as accessible as possible. We offer less intense/more intense options in our classes, and encourage students to find what works for them on any given day. Every body is different, and Yoga is for every body. 

Yoga by the Sea

Gentle Flow Yoga

This slow-flow style class blends Vinyasa and Hatha styles of yoga while building strength and flexibility. Poses flow together, with students focusing on linking their breath to their movement. This gently-paced class is suitable for all experience levels.

Lotus Position

Meditation and Restorative Yoga

Offered in-studio only. This restful, low intensity practice uses props to support extended holds in passive stretches, allowing tension release from both the body and mind. We create a meditative environment to allow the parasympathetic nervous system to relax and rejuvenate.

Meditating in Nature

Vinyasa Yoga

This Vinyasa (flow) style class builds strength and flexibility. Poses flow together, with students focusing on linking their breath to their movement. Students may find that knowledge of some basic poses may be helpful for this moderately-paced class.

Pilates Exercise

Hatha Yoga

This gentle style of yoga focuses on alignment and breath work. Hatha yoga is a great way to unwind from the stress of the day and offers a "pause" to return to our emotional center. This class is ideal for both experienced yogis and those new to practice as we will move intentionally into postures with longer holds.

Child's Pose

Yoga for Beginners

Offered in-studio only. In this class we'll learn some of the most common yoga poses, their names, and proper alignment. This gently paced class will teach foundations and elements of Hatha and Vinyasa styles of yoga.
